Rangers for Newhaven

Indigenous rangers from Central Australia are training on Newhaven Sanctuary. 350 km northeast of Alice, ABC  Alice Springs reports. The wildlife sanctuary lost more than 30per cent of its vegetation during a major fire a few months ago, according to the report. The Territory Natural Resource Management Board says the rangers, from Nyirripi and Yuendumu,are working with graders and learning where to put firebreaks to ensure they will not cause erosion problems.  ...Read more
